MID 19th CENTURY DAGUERREOTYPE OF QUAINT WOMAN POSSIBLY QUAKER

Daguerreotype of Quaker Lady

This original early to mid 19th century 1/6th plate daguerreotype photograph is of a woman I can only describe as classically quaint. The lady wears a large collared dress with white bonnet, possibly the dress of one of the 19th century religious sects such as the Quakers. The image is very well composed and other than being tarnished at the top and very edges the quality is outstanding. The image is in the original case, the original seals are gone and there is no photographers mark on the plate but there is a Binsse plate makers mark on one corner.

Dimensions: Height 3 1/4" Width 2 3/4"
