This ship sillhouette weathervane dates to the 1930's and we were told it came from a boat house. The vane is small measuring only 15" in overall height including the mount. Both the vane and the directional letters were hand cut from sheet brass. Even the mounting post and mount are brass which supports the idea that the vane came from a boat house, likely on the coast. The vane has a very old coat of black paint which is possibly original. There are a couple of minor bends and some scattered wear, there is also small bullet hole and another where the brass was pushed back into place so it's hard to see.
