EARLY 19th CENTURY ALE BOTTLE PAINTED WOOD TRADE SIGN

Early 19th Century Bottle Trade Sign

This carved and painted wood bottle was made to be used as a trade sign by a wine or spirits merchant. The bottle would likely have been hung in a shop window or as an addition to a larger sign. The bottle retains it's original mellow painted surface with great crazing and patina. The original iron hanging loop is still attached as well.
