Carved Pipestone Book

This interesting carved stone book features an Indian Chief Wearing a Headress on the front and an inscription on the back. The book was carved from pipestone, likely by the Sioux Indians as a souvenir of Pipestone Minn. early in the 20th century. The inscription on the back side reads "The Indian Scalps His Enemy - And - The White Man Skins His Friend". The condition is excellent and the book displays beautifully.
