This beautiful little basket dates from about 1920 to 1930 and was likely made by the Penobscot Indians on the upper east coast. The basket has it's original lid and the condition is outstanding. The basket is also somewhat unusual in the use of colored foils, placed behind holes pierced in the splints, to allow the color to show through.
