This beautiful early blown glass tumbler is a light amethyst in color and it features a wonderfully threaded lip. The glass measures app. 4" in height and was likely blown in one of the early midwestern glass houses. The neck has five distinct rows of threads and the base has a nice open pontil scare and appropriate wear. At some point in the life of the glass a previous owner has engraved the name "Gibson" in tiny script with an electric stylus on the bottom, I suppose to identify it in case of theft. The form is quite rare, the color exquisite..
